Migos’ ‘Culture II’ Officially Debuts at No. 1; Will Drop Collaborative Project With Lil Yachty and Gucci Mane

To no one’s surprise after many discussions and predictions, Drai’s resident rap trio Migos secured the no. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 albums chart with Culture II. This is their second consecutive no. 1 from last year’s highly-lauded Culture which released January 27, 2017 that came in at 131,000 units. Culture II earned an incredible 199,000 equivalent album sales in the week ending February 1, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This puts Migos in an exclusive club that’s joined by the Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and D12, becoming the fifth rap group to have more than one no. 1 album.

Not enough Migos music for you still? You’re in luck as they revealed at The Breakfast Club during a promo stop that they have another project on the way with Gucci Mane called Glacier Boyz. And just recently another fellow Atlanta native and label mate Lil Yachty will be joining them in the mix, and according to Guwop it’s slated to be released at the end of February. 2018 is already shaping up to be a powerhouse year for hip-hop, with Migos definitely not slowing down anytime soon. We also just got word that Migos has just tied The Beatles for the most simultaneous Hot 100 entries among groups, solidifying them to legendary status since dropping Culture II. Be on the lookout for this exciting project to drop soon and be sure to catch Migos’ debut performance on Saturday Night Live airing on March 3, with guest host Charles Barkley.
