Drai’s Weekend Recap: Rae Sremmurd + Trey Songz (3/23), TroyBoi and Big Sean (3/24)
by DRAI’S / March 26, 2018
These incredible weekends just keep on coming: for the first time ever we had Rae Sremmurd and Trey Songz performing the same night for Friday, Saturday saw TroyBoi’s 2018 return for Drai’s Beachclub, and later that night was the official birthday celebration of Big Sean at Drai’s Nightclub! Special guests included NFL wide receiver Michael Floyd, Patriots linebacker Elandon Roberts, Panthers linebackers Thomas Davis and Shaq Thompson, Lions runningback Amir Abdullah, Clippers point guard Patrick Beverley, and many more! Now let’s get started with the recap:
We couldn’t have asked for a better way to start off Friday night with the hotly-anticipated return of Rae Sremmurd, alongside R&B favorite Trey Songz at the Las Vegas nightclub! The great energy and aura remained from beginning to end that night. Rae Sremmurd, Trey Songz and their crews were seen enjoying themselves on the stageside VIP before performing, happily greeting fans all evening! TroyBoi was also spotted hanging out before his hype 2018 debut the following day. First up on stage was Trey Songz, getting the crowd riled up as he started off with “Na Na,” with his drummer Amadeus on stage as well. Trey went the high fashion route that evening, donning a Gucci top and shoes with a Saint Laurent tee. Fan favorites “Touchin, Lovin,” “Heart Attack,” “Slow Motion” and more were sung, with everyone following along and dancing. It was then time for the grand return of Rae Sremmurd, coming out to “No Type”! Their energetic stage presence is one to behold, always amping people up. “SremmLife! Sexy ladies what’s up!” as Slim Jxmmi brought out a bag of bills to make it rain all night for the fans! Rae Sremmurd were all over the stage, jumping around and interacting with fans (grabbing phones for some memorable stories!) as they performed hit after hit. For the first time on the Drai’s LIVE stage, Swae Lee performed “Hurt to Look” and Jxmmi was next with “Brxnks Truck” off their upcoming SR3MM triple album. During intermission we saw Swae, Jxmmi and Trey all up on stage, having some fun banter and passing drinks out to partygoers. Trey would then sing for the ladies “Say Aah,” “2 Reasons,” “Bottoms Up” and more, with Rae Sremmurd sticking around and vibing. Trey then left it to the dynamic duo to close the night out with “Black Beatles,” and recent bangers “T’d Up” and “Powerglide.” “Drai’s is my favorite club man, after party gonna be lit downstairs!” proclaims Swae Lee — it was a perfect Friday night! “SremmLife! Thank y’all for partying with us!” You can catch the return of Rae Sremmurd on Friday, April 6, and Trey Songz on Saturday, April 28!
Saturday afternoon saw the 2018 debut of TroyBoi at Drai’s Beachclub! Diehard fans made their way atop The Cromwell for his highly-anticipated set, bringing his London sound to the Strip! “Yo what’s good Drai’s, how you feeling tonight?!” asks Troy, as partygoers go wild! TroyBoi proudly started his set off with “W2L (Welcome to London),” getting everyone ready to party UK style. He was joined by New York producer and rapper Healthy Chill, busting out some rhymes on stage. We had dance troupe Freestahyl as well, showcasing some incredible moves and poppin’/lockin’ all day for everyone! Troy remixed some of today’s hottest tracks like “God’s Plan,” “MotorSport,” “U Don’t Know (Slushii Remix),” “goosebumps” and much more. “How we feeling my people! Hands up, let’s go!” Drai’s Beachclub continues to be the premier Las Vegas dayclub destination, with bottles popping, amazing food being served, incredible rooftop views, and college hoops playing on the big screens!
That evening saw the return of Big Sean as we proudly hosted his official birthday celebration! As with all Big Sean nights, it was a jam-packed Saturday with celebratory vibes in the air. He was joined by his mom, dad, and other close friends and family, with Jhene Aiko by his side at the stageside VIP for his 30th birthday! Sean started things off with “Go Legend,” followed by GOOD Music classics “Moves,” “Mercy” and “Clique.” He wore a clean all-white ‘fit, with a standout patterned shirt and Fendi jacket. “I’m celebrating a birthday tonight, if you celebrating a birthday too make some noise!” We got tables making it rain and Sean reaching his hand out to fans as he performed his hits. He then took a moment to reflect on his journey: “I turn 30 years old tonight, can’t believe it. I been doing this since I was 11 — this took me around the world, saved my life, moved my momma to a better house! What I gotta say is thank y’all for changing my life, I appreciate all of y’all!” He brought his father out later on to the stage, showing his love and appreciation to him. “I just wanna know if you feel blessed to be here, make some noise right now!” as he appropriately goes into “Blessings.” After that, our resident DJ Franzen came up on stage for a birthday presentation. We brought out a custom cake and played a very special birthday homage video featuring fellow Drai’s residents Ty Dolla $ign, G-Eazy, Nelly and more! Everyone then began to sing “Happy Birthday” to Sean, and he was presented with a special plaque to commemorate his 20th show on the Drai’s LIVE stage. Sean Don was pleasantly surprised and moved by the gesture, and thanked everyone in the building for making this happen! He concluded the evening with “Bounce Back,” getting everyone up and celebrating. “Thank you so much, I love you Vegas!” Big Sean’s next show at Drai’s Nightclub will be Saturday, April 21!
